Bart Scott To Live Out His Pro Wrestling Dream

After Bart Scott's epic post-game interview with ESPN's Sal Paolantonio after the New York Jets' playoff win over the New England Patriots, you had to know that an announcement like this was only a matter of time.

Alex Marvez of FoxSports.com reported on Thursday that Scott has signed with TNA Wrestling to make a March 3 appearance on "TNA Impact". His appearance will reportedly coincide with the return of one of Scott's wrestling idols - Hulk Hogan.

Hogan was glowing in his praise of Scott's post-season interview performance, telling ESPNNewYork.com that he "knew when Bart looked down the barrel of the camera he believed in himself and in what he was saying. And that makes him a real dangerous man."

Scott won't be the first NFL player to show up in TNA Wrestling. Adam "Pacman" Jones and Frank Wycheck have checked in. And if the lockout happens as expected, there's a good chance you can see more of your favorite football players showing up in the ring.

As for Scott and Hogan, I'm not even all that interested in watching them wrestle. But as for the post-fight interview...Can't Wait!

Friday's Birthday Shout-Out: LT Sacks Bigelow

For fans of a certain age, there will only ever be one true "LT". Sure, LaDainian Tomlinson has laid claim to the initials, but for everyone who paid attention to the NFL before 2001, it was and always will be about Lawrence Taylor.

Faster than any linebacker before him and as meaner than a Honey Badger that's been repeatedly poked with a stick, Taylor was dat dude you didn't want to see on a Sunday morning, Monday night or a Thursday afternoon. Mostly because he had more than a touch of crazy running through his veins. Cocaine's a hell of a drug.

Unfortunately, LT's life in recent years has also seen its share of trouble. He was twice arrested for leaving the scene of an accident. And recently he resolved a charge of third-degree statutory rape after he was arrested for having sex with a 16-year old girl by pleading to misdemeanor sexual misconduct.

But in honor of LT's 52nd birthday, we flash back to happier times. Back before WWE was getting Raw with athletes and celebrities on a weekly basis. Back to Wrestlemania XI, when Taylor - coached by a team of the NFL's greatest defensive stars at the time - took on man mountain Bam Bam Bigelow. It's an acting performance that no doubt paved the way for his roles in Any Given Sunday, The Waterboy and Shaft. Keep an eye out for cameos from Ken Norton, Jr., Reggie White and Chris Spielman.
